GYPSUM UNDERLAYMENT REPAIR
Let’s face it — there are still millions of square feet of bad gypsum underlayments out there. What subcontractors installed in the 1980s and 90s has now presented a flooring problem for building owners and contractors alike.
How can we help? Can we fix this problem, and if so, how long is the fix going to last?
Our solutions for gypsum floor repair problems may include:
- Tear out & Re-pour of the existing failed gypsum underlayment with a new pour that is a higher PSI (pounds per square inch) product, and possibly add a mesh, or upgrade to a 24-hour cure self-leveler, for next day applications of floor coverings.
- Skim coat of the existing worn gypsum underlayment with an acrylic modified slurry/skim coat capable overlay, which includes a limited warranty.
